Sepertinya empat F-22 Raptor tidak akan berlama-lama di Jerman. Pesawat generasi kelima ini secepatnya akan bergeser ke Polandia yang berarti dalam posisi head to head dengan Rusia.

Menurut outlet Media Polandia Glos Wielkopolski yang dikutip The Aviationist Minggu 30 Agustus 2015, pergerakan F-22 dari Fighter Squadron 95 yang bebasis di Tyndall Air Force Base akan dilakukan pada Senin 31 Agustus 2015.  Pesawat dijadwalkan akan berlatih dengan F-16 Polandia dan akan ditempatkan di Pangkalan 32 AB di Lask Polandia.

Kedatangan empat F-22 menandai penyebaran pertama Raptor di Eropa. Sebelumnya Raptor lebih banyak melakukan penyebaran ke kawasan Asia Pasifik yang dilakukan sejak 2009 guna memberikan tekanan kepada China terkait konflik Laut China. Sejumlah Raptor juga bergabung dalam kampanye udara untuk melawan ISIS di Irak dan Suriah.

Penggeseran Raptor ke Polandia jelas menjadikan pesawat ini ditemptatkan langsung di depan pintu rumah Moskow. Polandia menjadi salah satu negara di Eropa timur yang memiliki perbatasan dengan Rusia selain Ukraina, Latvia, Estonia dan Lithuania.
